First – Remove the garage door electrical cord from the power receptacle.

Second – Use a winding bar to unwind the springs.

- Tap the bolts back from the outside through the hinge holes

Fifth – Coil the springs back to their starting position
- Fine-tune tension if needed
- Take the vice grip off the shaft.
